Waiting to be Washed AwayPosted by CMLDigitalDetails (NA, United States) on 3 November 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. In one section of the Pemigewasset River there was a large area of flat rock that could be explored while the river flowed around it. At the edge of the rocks there were autumn leaves falling into a thin layer of water. Eventually the leaves were being forced to move and being washed away by the river's powerful current. I decided to try to take a close up shot of a single leaf that was in a thin layer of water with the river's water running behind. Because I was so close to water, I was trying to avoid placing my camera on the ground. After a serious of tripod configurations, I had no choice but to place the camera down on the ground with extreme caution and use the timer. I am hoping it was worth all the trouble. Thank you for visiting my Aminus3 photoBlog. I appreciate those for taking the time to view my images and for those that provide feedback. Barbara Kile from Ft. Worth, United StatesA study in contrast - stillness and motion. Nice opportunity you had here! 3 Nov 2009 2:38pm DarkElf from Perth, Australiasimple and beautiful and I love it! the anticipation of the water surging through is quite superb! the main leaf is perfectly sharp too - great vision and result! 4 Nov 2009 1:19am Viewfinder from Bradenton, FL, United StatesOutstanding find, outstanding capture. In the background, the white water seems like a rushing tidal wave making its way to where the one leaf currently rests. 4 Nov 2009 2:19am |
